From concerned resident: Margie Leathers received Tuesday 15 June 2021
Where the R42 meets HF Verwoerd St, at the entrance from Vereeniging to Heidelberg, where Jordaan Park starts, one would expect to be welcomed by a Heidelberg sign, well maintained pavements and a clean environment.
Sadly, this area has been deteriorating for years. You are now met by various hawkers, (despite the no hawking signs), hitchhikers, stopped trucks, leaking sewers and filthy garbage, created by poor management from Lesedi.
Residents have contributed to cleaning the area a few times, but surely this should be done by the Lesedi Council, the organisation which is funded by the ratepayers of this area?
It’s a disgrace, a health hazard, and a shocking representation of our beautiful town to all who enter from the R42.
Die SuikerbosRant het die klagte by Lesedi ingedien en ook die RommelManne van Die Heidelberg Besigheidskamer gevra om te help.
